Maintenance Process
1. Check or clean the filters
One of the easiest ways to ensure your AC runs efficiently is to replace or clean your filters on a regular basis. A clean filter prevents the cooling coils from dust and dirt. Also, clean filters save your money on utility bills and help in avoiding emergency repairs.
2. Programing of a thermostat
Thermostat also plays an important role for the maintenance of a good AC. If the thermostat is not accurately programed, it can lead to discomfort and high energy consumption. Hence, check the thermostat of your AC frequently so that it keeps your home at the right temperature.
3. Check the evaporator/ condenser coil
The units of an AC work by using evaporator and condenser coils, which helps to remove heat from the air in your home. So, check the evaporator coil of the AC every year and clean whenever necessary. Damaged coils need to be replaced.
4. Check the refrigerant level
Next is to check the refrigerant level. If the refrigerant level is low or if there is a leak, the unit will not cool properly.
Capacitors, compressors, and electrical connections also play a major role during the
maintenance of an AC.
The maintenance cost varies depending on its size and the issues with that particular brand of an AC. The longer the maintenance, the higher the cost.
